The pattern fits in either a five or six inch hoop.

When creating the Desert Plant pattern, I was inspired to create something that was reminiscent of Rangipo Desert flora. The Rangipo Desert is located in New Zealand to the east of three active volcanic peaks. The environment is harsh and only the toughest of vegetation survives, the bulk of which is tussock and snow grasses. The final image combines textures and shapes from these grasses, creating a fictional hybrid that represents the subtle beauty found on the Rangipo’s barren plains.

This pattern was created with beginners in mind, but can be enjoyed by all skill levels who wish to experiment with the design.
